Thanks for visiting our website. Ascent Advising is an unusual company offering unusual services in an unusual way, so it can be challenging to convey just what it is we do and how we do it. A good place to start is the tour provided on this website. Maybe a little history might be in order as well.

Ascent Advising was started by Dave Bartholomew in January 2005. He had spent his entire career leading companies owned by others. As he charted out his career the idea of having his own company was something that perpetually came to mind. In developing his business model and business plans, he asked himself three questions:

• What am I good at?
• What am I passionate about?
• What is needed in the marketplace?

He then looked at where the three questions intersected and came up with an exciting opportunity.

Having been in leadership for a number of companies, and in particular having been the president of several companies, he knew well the challenges faced by business executives. While they are usually inclined to present a public image of confidence and invulnerability, he knew that business leaders are also human, and as such, often in need of an objective, experienced, confidential advisor. This matched well with his passion for defining and achieving win/win success among teams of people, and his ability to work with diverse people to gather seemingly random information and translate them into actionable plans.

Thus was born Ascent Advising.

More recently Ascent has expanded to include a wider range of professional services provided by an ever-growing list of Ascent Associates. Our vision is to approach an almost one-stop-shop for professional business services.
