Transition Transformation ™

Current statistics show that the average person holds over 10 jobs between the ages of 18 and 40.  That translates to a little over two years per job!ₑ

Taking a new job may be the function of a promotion, being transferred to a new position, or moving to another company, but in any case, transition is almost a perpetual component of our careers.

While most companies offer extensive training and support for a new computer software program in the office, or a new machine in the factory, many companies provide little in the way of formal training and support to an employee in a new position, whether hired from the outside, or an internal reassignment.

Keep in mind that:

  • The skills and tasks that are important during a transition are different from those required as a  matter of routine after the transition
  • A person’s performance during a transition weighs heavily on performance after the transition.  Co-workers will decide on a person’s competence shortly after they arrive in the new job.  The confidence of a person in a new position is molded early on in the process, thus impacting performance for years into the future
  • With the rapid pace of business, many people consider the transition (the “honeymoon”, if you will) to be over, success or not, after just three short months!

Ascent’s Transition Transformation Services are designed to maximize mutual success during those all-important early days in a new position.

Available in a group setting (an ideal format following a corporate reorganization), one-on-one coaching, or a hybrid of the two, Transition Transformation Services covers:

  • Defining and insuring mutual understanding of what a successful transition is
  • Identifying key influencers (internal and external customers) and understanding their needs
  • Exploration of skills vital for a successful transition
  • Explanation of the role of communication during the transition
  • Development of a personalized, step-by-step plan for action during the transition.

As with all Ascent services, Transition Transformation can be tailored to meet the specific needs of you and your organization.  Contact us for details.
